1989 A Guy Called Gerald 'Hot Lemonade' LP

Nice first pressing of British underground pioneer A Guy Called Gerald's groundbreaking debut album on Rham! Records

Gerald Simpson (from Moss Side, Manchester) was a founding member of early techno legends 808 State before moving on to a hugely influential solo career which began with his tribal acid house anthem 'Voodoo Ray' in 1988. 'Hot Lemonade' dropped the following year and is a joyful mix of Chicago, Deep, and Acid-style House, filled with unique samples, bags of attitude and that rare confidence that never left Gerald's work over his many productive years. As always, his influences of Jamaican sound system, Jazz fusion, Hip Hop and Electro funk are inherent, bubbling away under the surface. We love everything this guy's put his hand to. Here's where it all began
