The film was originally conceived as an open-ended TV pilot (which makes a lot of sense!). After it was rejected by executives Lynch turned what they had into a feature, providing an 'ending' but leaving the overall intention open to interpretation. Many consider Mulholland Drive to be his finest work. A masterful, bizarre ride that will keep you guessing throughout, and speculating long after the credits roll.
