A nice Film Four ex-rental copy of the extraordinary, haunting Danish musical drama 'Dancer in the Dark' (2000), written and directed by Lars von Trier

Starring Bjork as Selma Ježková - a poor Czech immigrant living in the USA. Selma suffers from a degenerative eye condition and is saving up to pay for an operation to prevent her young son from suffering the same fate. Whilst working in her factory job, she daydreams, imagining that she's in a musical. An incredible performance from Bjork who had rarely acted before this, featuring her stunning musical score released as 'Selmasongs'...
