1981 Laurie Anderson 'O Superman' 7" Single

Original UK 7" single for performance artist and musician Laurie Anderson's groundbreaking minimal/experimental pop classic 'O Superman', which became a surprise hit in the UK after receiving heavy airplay from John Peel

Anderson was inspired to write the song after seeing Jules Massenet's aria "O Souverain" from 'Le Cid' performed live in concert by Charles Holland, and created it almost entirely using a Roland vocoder and Eventide Harmonizer. A sparse, blissful, dream-like piece of music that still sounds like it travelled to us from the future...
