1997 Richard Linklater Suburbia VHS

Nice UK VHS copy of Richard Linklater's 1996 post-high school drama/comedy 'Suburbia', based on a screenplay by Eric Bogosian in which he wrote about his experiences coming of age in the suburbs of Boston. Tricky to find on DVD in Europe so the VHS is a real collectors piece 

The film follows five friends who spend the majority of their time hanging around a local convenience store when one night they're visited by an old school buddy who's now a famous rock star. Tension and tragedy ensue. Sonic Youth composed a number of tracks specifically for the soundtrack, and they're in good company alongside U.N.K.L.E., Beck, Butthole Surfers and The Flaming lips to name a few.  An underrated 90s gem, with both Giovanni Ribisi and Nicky Katt delivering amazing performances as Jeff and Tim
