1981 Talking Heads 'Once In A Lifetime' 7" Single

Original 7" for Talking Heads' hugely influential single 'Once in a Lifetime', released in February 1981 on Sire Record. The song was produced and co-written by Brian Eno, and became the lead single from their fourth studio album, 'Remain in Light'. Influenced by early hip hop and Afrobeat artists, Eno developed the backing track by recording jam sessions and getting the band to repeat the best parts, almost like "human samplers" (according to David Byrne). Apparently the lyrics to 'Once in a Lifetime' were inspired by an evangelist radio broadcast...
